Vibhuti Mehta

I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at Arizona State University. I am on the 2026–2027 job market.

My research interests are in Labor Economics, Health Economics, and Education Economics.

In my job market paper, Licensing Barriers to Interstate Mobility, I study how state-specific occupational licensing keeps workers from practicing across state lines. Using an equilibrium model of travel nurse applications and wages, I find that nurses require a 30% wage premium to apply to a position in a state where they are not licensed.
